About The Event

The 'medicine' drum evokes imagery of mystery, power, and healing. In this discussion we will discuss how the medicine drum can used for self healing, meditation, and 'journey'.

Topics of discussion may include:

  • Shamanic Journey vs Meditation
  • What rhythms should I play?
  • Use of drum in healing
  • 'Holding space' with the drum
  • What is entrainment?
  • How drum vibration affects the body, mind, spirit
  • Experience various rhythms effect on the mind and body
  • There will be time for your questions

Michael holds drum maing ceremonies where it is common for people to feel called to make their own drum. This is a powerful experience many who attend, but it is also recognized that people leave these gatherings with little understanding of how to really use the drum in their lives. It is always encouraged for them to let the heart guide them and to let the rhythms come from the heart. The drum can be a powerful force of change and healing, but in order for it to be so the drum must played and you must develop your own relationship with your drum to fully utilize this potential. So get that drum down off the wall, wipe off the dust and lets have some fun! This is not an interactive drumming time, but if you have a drum it is encouraged for you to have it with you. You do not need a drum to attend. All interested are encouraged to attend.

Donations are appreciated but not necessary to attend.
