Women's SoulSounding and Drumming

Soulsounding is a vocal toning and sound exploration workshop. Vocal toning and sound play is a non-verbal expression that gives voice to the spirit and heart. This practice is based on emptying the mind and dropping into embodied creative expression. This workshop's focus is about en-powering you to connect with your own medicine songs, and most importantly the self as an instrument to befriend.

The Living Voice and Drum workshop is an invitation to gather in circle with women sharing voice, drum, and wild inspired expression. This will be a very powerful, energizing, playful and evocative exploration using drumming and voice in a shamanic nature. This is for those who want to unleash their voice and drum while moving through inhibitions. 

We will be covering various techniques with the drum and learning to play together in beat, and with polyrhythms. 

No experience is necessary, simply show up and get out of your own way. Whether you are beginning or seasoned in toning and drumming this workshop will provide you with a unique foundation to develop personal skills in working with energy and sound. 

We will be using the body, hands, breath, and voice to explore rhythm and sound play. In this way the body and voice become a more connected expression of your inner nature. Learn to use voice, breath, rhytmic body percussion, and movement to recalibrate your personal energy. A safe space is created where emoting what the heart calls for, whether it's primal, gentle, deep, ethereal, silent, bold, or soft. Allowing your heart and voice to be connected in a true expression of sound can tap into buried inspiration and promote healing. 

I truly feel this is music medicine for whole being! 

* Bring a frame drum or medicine drum if you have one, if you dont, we have several available for use or purchase. Please do not bring other style drums such as djembe, dumbek etc. as we will not be using those for this work.
