Find Your Rhythm - Self Healing with Medicine Drum

This is medicine drum workshop for beginners or those with experience looking to deepen their understanding. In the world of 'medicine' drumming, there are really no rules for just playing. But this wide open format can leave people not knowing what to do or where to start. There are some aspects to be discussed to help understand the way various rhythms can be used to assist in meditation, journey, and self-healing ways of drumming. This workshop will allow the space for you to drum and experience first hand the effects of various rhythms on the body, mind and spirit. It is recommended, but not required that you have a drum available for the workshop.

This will give you a deeper understanding of how to use your drum for self healing, and if you are a healer, this will also give you insights into holding healing space for sessions with clients or friends. Eventually, with time, you will find your own rhythm, you could say a rhythm of your spirit or heart. As you allow this rhythm to express through the drum, It will also express through voice and life. This is something that canot be taught or given, but must reveal naturally as the voice of your heart. Through the discussiond and experiences in this workshop you will have a foundation to begin walking the path of discovering your rhythm.

Michael Cutter is a drum maker, artist and healer. He has trained in various healing modalities for over 25 years including intensive healing and training with traditional shamanic healers including John Lockley, Itzhak Beery, Garrett Duncan (Navajo Illuminations), and Tracy Shulsinger (Sandra Ingerman style), Oona, Ladamira, Angaangak and others. He has a private practice healing trauma and living life purpose. The medicine drum plays a central role in his healing work. He has dedicated his life to being in service and carrying forward the spirit wisdom of the indigenous and mystical traditions.
